Richard Gawne
Richey is in his third decade as an educator, and is excited to have landed at Tilden School. Richey’s education career began in Eastern Washington, volunteering and substitute teaching in elementary school classrooms. He soon took a position at the Open Window School in Bellevue, and gained his Masters in Education during his ten-year tenure there. Richey continued to work within the NWAIS school group for the next 20 plus years, as a classroom teacher across a wide range of grades, conceiving and building a student support department, and ultimately taking various roles as a school administrator/leader. In his tenure, Richey’s focus and training has been on helping students with learning differences and social/emotional needs. Richey was excited to move back to being a classroom teacher at Tilden, as he was attracted to the school’s emphasis on kindness and was excited about Tilden’s energy and growth potential!
